DESCRIP- TION | The railroad replaces the Roberval Saguenay and portions of the Canadian National Ry. It is 1941, Canada has been at war with Germany for almost 2 years. American industries, although not at war, have geared-up to support the US “Lend-Lease” program. Some of this traffic is channeled to Port Alfred on the Saguenay River to ease congestion on the east coast ports. Moving wartime material, aluminum and forest products is the main reason for being of the C&PA Ry. Some local manufacturing and agricultural products are also handled. Trains include 1st and 2nd Class passengers, 3rd Class freights, way freights and transfer runs. Some of these trains are from the CNR. | |||
