DESCRIP- TION | The Maple Ridge Railway is an N scale set in the late 1940’s, early 1950’s with a focus on industrial freight operations. There are several industries as well as a twelve-stall roundhouse, operating turntable and various engine maintenance buildings. The layout also has a good size town to add to the mix of buildings and scenic interest. The locomotive power is predominately steam with various transition era diesels. The layout includes approximately 70ft of continuous running track using a unique two-level layout design based on a concept from the book “101 Track Plans for Model Railroaders”. The design may be of interest to those who do not have a lot of space but would like to do something more than run a train around a loop. |
