DESCRIP-
TION
A dedicated crew of expert railroad modelers are passionately building a huge operating diorama in HO scale, depicting the CN facilities in Smiths Falls circa 1955. The layout is being built inside vintage Canadian National Railways passenger coach 5802 at the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario.

The project commenced in the spring of 2018 by repurposing the interior of this 1923 passenger coach. Construction of scaled structures, scenery and bridges is ongoing as the team follows the historical CNR survey map, researched photos and documentation. The track plan is prototypically simple and includes two hidden reverse loops and staging yards at both ends to allow continuous running and facilitate operation. As of fall 2022, the scenery is about 75% finished.
