There is a free Train Show at the Galeries Aylmer on October 7th and 8th. The Capital Region Model Railway Tour will have an advanced Registration desk open both days from 10am to 4pm. You will be able to register and pay for the October 21 Tour and receive your Tour pass and copy of the Tour guidebook. With pre-registration there’s no need to wait in line at the Registration Hall at St Anthony’s on the 21st, just go straight to the first layout you wish to see!
Welcome to the Capital Region Model Railway Tour. Once again, local modellers have offered to open their layouts for the day and host visitors who would like to see what model railroading is all about.
Please note: this is not a “house tour”!
The objective is for us all to share in the experience – visitor and layout owner alike. Respect the owner’s home and stay in the designated railway tour areas only. If you have children in your group, please ensure that they are supervised at all times.
To register at the Galeries Aylmer Train Show on October 7-8:
▪ Registration starts each day at 10:00 am, and will be open until 4:00 pm. |
▪ Each member of your group over 15 must complete and sign a registration form. |
▪ Each adult member of the group will be issued with a Tour Pass and the group will receive a bilingual Tour Guide Book. |
▪ Pay your $10.00 admission for each adult. (This allows access to as many layouts as you can squeeze in.) |
▪ Be sure to put your name on the pass. |
▪ On Tour day (October 21), drive to your first chosen location. Observe any instructions in the Tour Guide about where to park and which door to enter. |
▪ Enter the house where you will be met by a greeter who will ask you to sign the guest book. Be sure to include your pass ID number. |
▪ Follow directions to the layout room and enjoy the layout. Ask questions of the members present and discover what they most enjoy about the hobby. |
▪ When finished, move on to the next layout of your choice. |
▪ Feel free to also drop by the Registration hall on Tour day to enjoy the layouts on display at St Anthony’s Soccer Club. |
