DESCRIP-
TION
This Canadian National based freelanced layout depicts heavily trafficked branch line operations serving two towns in the Pontiac region of north western Québec. The branch line services light industries and a paper mill before heading into the hinterland and its mining, wood treatment, lumbering, and quarrying operations.

The layout started out as a simple track plan on a 4’ x 8’ table. The layout expanded through several iterations until a major redesign/expansion occurred 11 years ago, which replaced 70% of the existing layout and added a second deck connected via a helix. The mainline is 230 feet long including the helix. The layout is fully scenicked and operates twice a month with a crew of 7.
