DESCRIP- TION | This Canadian National based freelanced layout depicts heavily trafficked branch line operations serving two towns in the Pontiac region of north western Québec. The branch line services light industries and a paper mill before heading into the hinterland and its mining, wood treatment, lumbering, and quarrying operations. The layout started out as a simple track plan on a 4’ x 8’ table. The layout expanded through several iterations until a major redesign/expansion occurred 11 years ago, which replaced 70% of the existing layout and added a second deck connected via a helix. The mainline is 230 feet long including the helix. The layout is fully scenicked and operates twice a month with a crew of 7. |
